Self-Testing

Self-Testing is “cheap bio-feedback” that can be used without a partner. It is a way to find out whether or not you are on track with a decision, both consciously and subconsciously.  It is also the subject of tonight’s Logical Soul Talk from 6-6:30 pm (ET). WHY SELF-TESTING? The major reason for self-testing is to discover what our so-called “subconscious mind” is saying NOW . . .  without waiting for a friend, partner or therapist to check you out.  This is important when you need a quick answer and want to enlist your WHOLE being, not just your intellect or emotions.

The whole basis of Self-Testing is that Muscle Testing, or BioFeedback is the most powerful Navigational Tool we can use for self-discovery.  Tune in today to find out why and how this is.

Since I began using muscle testing

Let me say in the outset that I consider both biofeedback and meditation to be powerful tools for self-actualization. They are, however, vastly different tools.  Just as I consider an electric saw to be valuable for cutting wood, I would only use an electric drill to bore a hole.   Different tools for different purposes.

BIO-FEEDBACK

BioFeedback – whether it is the result of audio-visual feedback, or through the use of muscle testing or applied kinesiology – is a powerful tool for instant self-discovery. The simplest (and cheapest) form of bio-feedback is through the use of muscle testing or “kinesiology,” the study of muscle strength and movement.

While kinesiology or muscle testing has therapeutic uses, its use can also help us quickly and easily determine a “yes” or “no” answer to statements or affirmations. This is helpful for finding out whether or not your so-called “subconscious mind” (some say “right brain”)  is aligned with your conscious mind, or left brain. If you make the statement “I am alive,” chances are both “selves” will be in agreement.

If, however, you make statements that the subconscious (right brain) considers to be a “no,” or not true,  the muscle will test a little weak. This is immediately useful if you want to determine whether or not to trust someone, buy something, or engage in some sort of activity where the outcome is uncertain.

NOTE:  muscle testing is NOT a useful tool for prophesy, fortune-telling, or prediction. The “readings” can only determine your inner condition – whether of or against a particular outcome. Do you have the support of your subconscious mind (or intuition) for the success of this activity?  Or not?  This knowledge alone is enough of a reason to use bio-feedback.

Used in conjunction with a complete systems such as the Logical Soul(tm), muscle testing becomes a powerful tool for uncovering layers of hidden untruths that cloud your ability to succeed.  It is simple, universally available, and important as a NAVIGATIONAL TOOL when faced with inner doubts and fears.

MEDITATION

Thousands of years ago, during Vedic Times on the Indian subcontinent, meditation was common practice and mankind was more inner-directed.  Its practice was considered as important as food or water, air and sunshine.  It was our direct link to God, the source of all survival, joy and self-awareness.

Through centuries of wars and shifting civilizations we lost our ability to connect with out source . . . to meditate.  Even today – in this so-called “enlightened age” – we are surrounded by the constant din of traffic,  electronic gadgets and media.  We are lucky to retain our sanity, much less remember our divine origins.

Over the years, meditation – our link with the Divine – was assigned to specialists:  prophets, seers, clergymen and poets. Even then we seldom listened to them except when our survival depended on it.

One of our modern seers was William Wordsworth (1770-1850) who wrote of his transcendental bliss in 1798:

      "That serene and blessed mood,
      In which the affections gently lead us on,--
      Until, the breath of this corporeal frame
      And even the motion of our human blood
      Almost suspended, we are laid asleep
      In body, and become a living soul:
      While with an eye made quiet by the power
      Of harmony, and the deep power of joy,
      We see into the life of things."

Wordsworth described in verse what has been since measured and described as a state of deep meditation. Modern lab studies on the changing physiology during meditation showed that something, indeed, was happening when that “serene and blessed mood” kicked in! (The one thing our modern world HAS brought is the ability to re-discover these lost meditation techniques, and re-establish that inner guidance.)

Today, millions of people today practice some form of meditation. As a long-time meditator myself (for almost 40 years), I can vouch for its ability to bring me closer to my divine source and instill a sense of peace into every thought and activity.   Meditation is crucial in that it builds the FOUNDATION FOR INNER PEACE I believe everyone needs to have!

THE DIFFERENCE

While meditation enlivens consciousness, it is not designed for problem-solving. The most effective meditation “experiences”  are non-specific. To get to “that serene and blessed mood” one must let go of all thought and concern, drifting into the state of “being” – the level where thought arises.  Over the years, the cumulative effects of “transcending” give us that inner peace we seek.

BUT WHAT IF WE HAVE A SPECIFIC PROBLEM?? To address a specific problem, you must be able to discover the SPECIFIC DECISION OR DECISIONS that gave rise to that problem.  If you want to attract more  money, for example, you need to know that any hidden, deep-rooted belief that “money cannot be spiritual” will stop you every time!

The Logical Soul(tm) addresses these specific, hidden decisions.  And muscle testing, as the simplest form of biofeedback, can directly show us the condition of our inner landscape, i.e., our collection of hidden decisions.

Use both biofeedback AND meditation on our way to a joyful and self-actualized life!

If a toxic or negative stimulus is introduced, or held within the energy field of the person, a notable weakness can often be induced from a formerly-strong muscle.  This technique is most commonly used by doctors and therapists to test the beneficial – or harmful – effects on the body by substances such as food, vitamins or supplements.

As a chiropractor, I used this technique with patients for many years as both a diagnostic and treatment tool.

In the Logical Soul(tm) technique, however, I use muscle testing as a way to test affirmations and statements.  Using the simple YES/NO feedback, I can quickly determine whether or not there are hidden decisions that are sabotaging my results.  In the video below, I will demonstrate a simple way to test your own statements for either truth or self-sabotage:

Because I’ve been doing the Logical Soul(tm)  work for about 18 years,  I sometimes forget how important the results can be for someone who has never experienced accessing and changing a hidden decision before.  This was driven home to me recently after receiving the following email testimonial from a recent client – a success coach who was having trouble with her OWN success.  The  content has not been edited:

The first phase – the Interview – is taken from the Socratic method. This method, obviously, was derived from the habit that the philosopher (and “corrupter of the Athenian youth”) Socrates developed to ask questions, more questions, then still more questions, until the truth is revealed.

This 20-question approach actually pinpoints the problem needing resolution.  Without digging beyond the surface and finding that “needle in the haystack,” or hidden factor that truly motivates us, we are unable to change our results.   Period.

First LS Meetup in Atlanta

The next day, Brigitte reported feeling strange, so I tested her again.  Suddenly, the same statements that tested strong the day before were now testing weak.

I then asked her to describe the session in more detail.  She reported that he tested statements – similarly to the way I teach – and “did some points and prayed” so that the changes could stay anchored.  The changes, however, were not anchored, and I realized why.

In my work and courses I teach, there are Four Phases of the Logical Soul ™ process.  The last two phases involve what I call Access to hidden decisions using “personal archetypes,” and Resolution where the changes are anchored into the body and nervous system.

While all phases were followed in sequence, my chiropractic friend apparently threw in his own version of what “access” and “resolution” meant without determining that from his patient, my wife.  By “praying” for her, instead of asking and allowing my wife to bring in her own archetypal images or prayers, he effectively short-circuited the whole process.

While there was no harm done in this instance (the first rule of Hippocrates), my wife knew what was supposed to happen.  Her reports was based on her long experience with my work;  otherwise this doctor’s lack of using the Logical Soul ™ “protocol” would never have been discovered.

By the way, this is not meant to criticize my friends intentions or his dedication to healing, which I hold in high regard.  I only point out that he, and many healers, often forget something fundamentally important to the healing process . . .

The principle of non-interference.

How often do doctors trust lab tests and examinations more than they do the word of their patients? It seems to be the rule, rather than the exception.

In too many instances doctors presume to “know” what is best for their  patients without even asking them!  While I can understand this attitude in medical doctors (because their learned paradigm is based on “fixing” people), it is harder to understand why doctors of “natural methods” simply forget this important principle of non-interference!

Even chiropractors, the ones whose original philosophy strongly embraces this principle, often assert their own preference first.  In failing to listen to the patient’s conscious or subconscious needs, the internal healing force cannot do its work.  D.D. Palmer, the founder of Chiropractic in 1895, called this healing force “Innate,” and declared there is no other force stronger or more intelligent for human health and happiness . . . when given a chance to express itself fully.

The phrase  “Nature needs no help, just no interference” also applies to the practice of the Logical Soul(tm).

Abraham Maslow (1908-1970)

The Logical Soul ™ represents a new paradigm – or world view – about the way we look at our so-called “subconscious mind,” the field of motivation, and the way we transform ourselves from survival-based human beings needing therapy to what Abraham Maslow called “self-actualized” humans.

Maslow said that the level of needs of an individual governed their outward motivation.  For someone who did not have all his or her survival needs met, this is where they would remain . . . and act towards the world and others in a manner that reflected this inner need.

With the Logical Soul (tm), un-met survival needs are found, accessed, and changed, such that individual human evolution can take place more quickly and effortlessly. While this technique fills a very great need and its results are astounding, however, its widespread use may take a while to become established.

The reason?  Established paradigms will not allow it to spread too quickly, if at all.  A paradigm – or world view – when accepted by most members of a population, tend to become entrenched in that same population, and remains entrenched until usurped by another.

For illustration of this phenomenon,  let’s look at what happened to Swiss watches . . .

For centuries, the Swiss had a corner on the watch-making industry and market.   “Swiss-made” was synonymous with quality watch-making, and  no one outside of Switzerland dared to challenge those craftsmen . . . until someone did.

Sometime around the mid-1900s’ a technology called “digital timekeeping” became possible.  It was only logical, therefore, that the Swiss should capture and utilize this rising technology because, after all, they were the captains of that industry!

That’s not what happened.  The Swiss craftsmen could see no value in digital watches, and expressed disdain for anything that didn’t have little gears and a clock face – their field of expertise.

The problem was that digital watches were here to stay.  They kept better time, had fewer working parts, and came at a much lower cost.  The Swiss, unaware that a fundamental change had just taken place, ignored the chance to capitalize on this change.  Instead, the Japanese captured it and never looked back.

Today, even quality watches are digital, and Swiss watches are more of a novelty than a necessity.  The watch industry there never quite recovered from the paradigm shift that invaded their little hamlets.

Like that, the Logical Soul ™ is based on a different paradigm (“holistic”) rather than the existing – and dominant – “medical model” followed by most doctors and therapists.  Consequently, it will require more effort to educate people over time of the excellent and far-reaching benefits.

The “holistic model” of care and self-actualization, however, requires a bit of education – and most people tend to accept the norm rather than expend effort to learn a new approach.

The shift, however, is taking place.  It is only a matter of time before there is a paradigm shift in the population and alternatives become mainstream.
