“The little girl was standing tiptoe on the old brown sofa that served as her
bed at night. She pressed her cheek against the window pane trying to look
down the five stories to the busy street below. But as much as she craned
her head, their little attic room was too high up and the window too small to
see what was going on below. She signed and slipped down again behind
the kitchen table. She really wished her mother would be home to keep her
company and help her with her homework.
“But Mom was still at work and when she finally came home she would be

much too tired to be any fun. “Since they had fled East Germany life had changed dramatically. Nobody had time for her anymore and she had left all her friends behind. No more roaming the countryside with her German Sheppard, no more feeding and teasing the chickens with her best friend Christine, no more climbing fences and trees with her cousins. No more beautiful pink little girls room, no more warm kitchen with Mummy cooking her favorite dinner, no more laughter with Grandma who could tell such lovely stories. There seemed to be nothing anymore…
“Not even Sunday morning tickling sessions with Dad. Tears started running down her cheeks. She didn’t understand – WHY? Why did they have to leave??? They had everything before – their own house, a car, even a TV and a telephone – the only one in the village. They had it ALL and loads of friends and a loving family. Why change this for nothing?
“Now they only had this small, ugly attic room which served as home to all 3
of them. Not even a bathroom, just a sink and the toilet was 2 floors down.
Her Dad said it had to do. Maybe he didn’t mind so much. He was away all
week. He worked as a truck driver and only came home Friday night or
even Saturday morning and left again on Sunday. Maybe for him it was ok
but somehow she didn’t think so because there was no laughter when he
was at home and his nerves seemed frayed. And almost every Saturday he
took Mummy to the cinema. He said it was to let his little girl sleep. Why
couldn’t he understand that she would rather not sleep then be alone -
once again.
“Sometime she thought he did not love her anymore. How else could she
explain the harassed look on his face, their continuous arguments about her
education and about money. That definitely was a problem. There never
seemed to be enough of it. She knew it was the reason why they both
worked so much but she didn’t care. She wanted her life back, she wanted
her family and friends back.
“Today the little girl is an ‘big’ girl. Her name is Barbara and in this book you
will get to know her because the little girl was me. My parents escaped from
East Germany when I was 8. My father in the trunk of a car, my mother and
I through Berlin. We arrived in the West with just a small case and the
equivalent of 400 Dollars.
“In those days there was plenty of work but no housing. All large cities, were
the work was, had been bombed out during the war. It took my parents
almost 20 years of hard labor before they had again what we left behind in
Communist Germany but my father was convinced that it had been worth it.
“Why? Because it had given him what was most precious to him – the
freedom to live his dream, the dream of becoming a successful
entrepreneur.
“When you are a little girl, you cannot understand that but when you are a big
girl like me today, you know how important the freedom to choose is. Today
I am very grateful that my father made this painful decision – also for me -
and through it gave me the opportunity to live my own dream, and part of my dream is to empower you to live yours. If you let me, I will help you transform your life into the life of your dreams – taking one step at the time.”

Is Success Out There Somewhere?
Let’s face it . . .
In addition to books like Think and Grow Rich there have been hundreds – nay, thousands – of books, tapes, programs and seminars on how to succeed in finding wealth and happiness from the same number of very successful entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, athletes, and others who know how to be successful, and teach these success courses.
The problem is – they don’t necessarily know the best way to get you there. With so many personal issues, hidden decisions, lack of early role models, and a feeling of hopelessness pervasive among the vast majority of the human population, its a statistical miracle, really, that any of us should be able to emerge as success stories.
But we do . . . at least some of us! The rest of us believe we can’t make it because we don’t have enough motivation, education, encouragement, persistence, or resources. But we are told to believe otherwise, and many of us go along with this suggestion from successful speakers and motivators.
If you are one of those among us, here’s the real scoop . . .
Let’s say you buy all their books, take their seminars, listen to their tapes and use their programs. This is what I call a “feel good” exercise because we really feel like we are “doing something for me!”
But then the work begins and we get wimpy. The motivation lags. The affirmations don’t work. The Law of Attraction starts attracting neighbors with pit bulls and late-night parties. So when the courses don’t work, it becomes YOUR fault that you failed. (If you don’t believe me, read their legal disclaimers to get the full scope of your responsibility.)
This, however, is a win-win. They get to win because they obviously showed you the right way to commit to your goals and succeed. You, on the other hand, get to win because you proved once again to yourself “This won’t work for me.” Your hidden decision to “succeed by failing” has too firm a grasp on your consciousness – with little reason for your subconscious to change.
Now, think about that for a minute. At any given moment you decide on a goal, you either believe
a) I can do it or
b) I can’t do it.
YOUR BODY – that fine-tuned instrument of actual truth – will instantly decide if (a) you can do this or (b) leave it alone, you can’t do it, you’re not going to do it… or some other reason that may be hidden from your conscious mind.
So when you set your goals and affirmations,
• Wouldn’t it be nice to have your left AND right brains on board?
• Wouldn’t it be nice to have the body on board?
• Wouldn’t it be nice to have the emotions on board?
• Wouldn’t it be nice to have intuition come into play effortlessly, and
• Wouldn’t it be nice if the memory of ancestors, family, friends, and everything that’s ever happened in your life would not hold you back whenever you make a decision?
You can do this. But you must be able to get what is called “cybernetic feedback” from your body and subconscious in order to navigate through this “soul logic” that exists inside you – out of the reach of your conscious understanding and control.

Raymond Aaron
What is “Self Help” anyway?
Is it a way to get slimmer? Stronger? Smarter? Or Richer? Or is self help actually that persistent yearning we have for our Soul?
When I first learned that Raymond Aaron walked to the North Pole, I was mightily impressed. When I listened further and heard the story of how he trudged over 350 miles across polar bear-infested snowdrifts pulling a heavy sled with supplies . . . and won the race as a 62-year-old(!) I about fell out of my chair!
“Now” I mused, “that may not be much self help for the body, what it does for the SOUL is immeasurable!”
I knew then and there I had much to learn from him. Needless to say, I immediately signed up for his Monthly Mentor Program, STOPPED procrastinating, and started accomplishing some amazing things. I set up my blog, finished my book, started a radio program,and started riding a UNICYCLE after quitting over 40 years ago!!

Dr. Brenda Wade has agreed to write the Foreword to the soon-to-be-published The Logical Soul.
Dr. Wade is a clinical psychologist, a well-known television personality, and a popular public speaker who lectures widely across the country. She is the relationship contributor for NBC’s Today Show, and heads up the Love and Money Summit that was first held in Savannah, Georgia last September. I was one of the speakers at that event.
Dr. Wade reports that the Logical Soul(tm) sounds similar to some work she does, and wants to do a session soon, as well as write the Foreword. She also requested having me speak at some of her future workshops and seminars in California and elsewhere, and I readily agreed.
I also spoke with Brenda on the phone the day my Mom passed away, and she was very supportive and helpful in my time of sadness. Its a great honor to know Dr. Wade, and I’m blessed to have her on our team!
